im 15 and i just watched it yesterday, i’m glad to know that the things i do have been done before by many others i might even follow ur tradition HAHA (beautiful writing btw)
i only saw dead poets society recently - it absolutely ripped my heart out. one of my favourite films is almost famous. the first time i watched it was when i was 18, i was completely dazzled by it. i love anything 70s. every time i watch it, i take something new from it. a line i've never heard before, suddenly makes me cry. or a background character i never took much notice of, holds so much value that i hadn't appreciated. the meaning i take from the film at 23 is completely different from the meaning i took from it at 18 - there is something really beautiful and sentimental about that .... do you find this with dead poets society?
i agree with everything you said! every time i watch it there’s a little new detail that i focus on that i haven’t noticed before and i get taken aback by how mesmerizing the rewatching experience is. it feels so comforting, so relaxing knowing that the feeling never goes away. i didn’t notice the shift in the meaning the movie held over me until four years had gone by and my last rewatching experience changed, i absolutely understand what you mean
i love this and i love you, it’s a gift to have known you at 15 and now at 19
